Full job description

GPH Builders Merchants are the largest independent Builders merchants in the North of Scotland operating from 4 locations across Aberdeenshire.

We have a vacancy for an experienced Class 1 Lorry Driver to join our transport team operating predominantly across the North East of Scotland with runs to Central Scotland and other parts of the UK.

The successful candidate will be transporting a wide range of construction materials to construction sites, business premises and quarries. The business operates a modern fleet of vehicles and require a driver with a high level of care for their own safety and that of our customers. We are looking for drivers who are used to dealing the customers and have a warm, friendly and helpful manner. There is an option to be based at either our Inverurie or Westhill sites.

Responsibilities

Operate HGV vehicles safely and efficiently, ensuring compliance with all traffic regulations.
Deliver goods to designated locations, maintaining accurate delivery records.
Nights out will be expected. Scania sleeper cab and generous subsistence provided.
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety and functionality.
Manage flatbed loads securely, adhering to weight limits and safety standards.
Communicate effectively with dispatch and clients regarding delivery schedules and any issues encountered.
Maintain a clean driving record and uphold company policies at all times.

Requirements

Valid Class 1 driving licence
CPC and Digital Tachograph card
Minimum of one year’s Class 1 driving experience.

Permanent role with competitive rate of pay, 1.5x overtime rate and generous subsistence allowance.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: £14.00-£21.00 per hour
