Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Fencer to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining various types of fencing across diverse sites. This role requires a strong understanding of construction techniques, safety standards, and the ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team. The position offers an opportunity to develop your skills within the construction industry while contributing to high-quality fencing projects.

Duties

Measure and mark out fencing lines according to project specifications
Install different types of fencing including wooden, metal, and wire fences
Use hand tools and power tools such as drills, saws, and post drivers to assemble and secure fencing components
Repair or replace damaged fencing sections as needed
Assist with site preparation including ground clearance and setting foundations
Collaborate with other tradespeople such as carpenters, masons, or electricians on site when necessary
Follow health and safety regulations to ensure a secure working environment
Maintain equipment and ensure tools are in good working order

Skills

Proven experience in fencing installation or related construction trades
Strong knowledge of carpentry, masonry, roofing, plumbing, welding, electrical work, and fabrication is advantageous
Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively
Ability to interpret technical drawings and project plans
Good organisational skills with attention to detail
Physical fitness to handle manual labour tasks including lifting and working at heights if required
Excellent teamwork skills alongside the ability to work independently when necessary
