Astwood Storage is a modern self-storage facility providing secure, flexible storage solutions for both domestic and business customers across Worcestershire and the surrounding areas. We are on Astwood Business Park, which homes a variety of other business tenants.

As our business continues to grow, we are looking for a positive, organised and customer-focused Assistant Manager to join our team.
Responsibilities
Reporting to the Self Storage Manager and Site Manager, the Assistant Manager will play a key role in the day-to-day operation of the facility.
You will be responsible for assisting customers, supporting sales enquiries, maintaining the appearance and cleanliness of the site, processing administrative tasks and ensuring customers receive an excellent experience from their first enquiry through to move-out.
This is a varied role that combines customer service, administration, sales support and operational duties.
- Deliver outstanding customer service in person, by telephone and via email.
- Assist customers with storage enquiries and provide information on available units, pricing and services.
- Conduct facility tours for prospective customers.
- Support the move-in process, including customer paperwork and account setup.
- Follow up sales enquiries promptly and professionally.
- Assist with customer account administration and payments.
- Build positive relationships with customers and resolve queries efficiently.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and presentation throughout the facility.
- Conduct regular site checks and report any maintenance concerns to the Self Storage Manager or Site Manager.
- Prepare units for new customers, ensuring they are clean and ready for occupation.
- Assist with deliveries, stock control and retail sales.
- Support health and safety checks across the site.
- Help ensure all customer areas remain safe, secure and welcoming.
- Support the Site Manager with general site maintenance, minor repairs and operational tasks where required.
- Assist with invoicing, payments and general office administration.
- Support marketing activities and local promotional initiatives when required.
- Ensure compliance with company procedures and data protection requirements.
- Provide additional cover for the reception and facility during periods of holiday, sickness, training, and other planned or unplanned absences.
Experience
- Previous office or administrative experience is essential, ideally within property management or customer service sectors
- Previous experience in self storage, retail, hospitality, customer service or sales.
- Experience handling customer enquiries and converting sales opportunities.
- Basic maintenance or facilities experience.
- Knowledge of health and safety procedures.
- Is confident communicating face-to-face, over the telephone and via email.
- Has strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Is willing to be hands-on and assist with site presentation and operational tasks.
- Can work independently and as part of a team.
- Is comfortable using computer systems and Microsoft Office.
- Holds a full UK driving licence and willing to be trained on machinary.
