Job Description: Female Support Worker

Hours: 1 x 36 Hours - Full Time

Pay: £14.50 per hour

Refer a Friend Scheme - £250 awarded (T&C's apply)

We currently have a great opportunity for dedicated Full Time and Bank Support Workers to work with an individual who has a learning Disability and autism and mental health support needs within the Carlisle CA3 area.

We’re looking for positive, caring and proactive individuals to join a dedicated support team for an incredible woman living in her own home. She lives life to the fullest and needs a team that will embrace her world, her family, and her way of doing things.

About the Person You’ll Be Supporting

This is a woman who communicates verbally however Is currently using a limited vocabulary and relies on those around her to support her in every aspect of daily living – from shopping and meal preparation to gardening and attending appointments. She enjoys staying active, and doing real, meaningful tasks in her day.

She is surrounded by a loving family, and it's important that any new team members value family connections and work collaboratively with them.

While she can experience behaviours that challenge, she thrives when supported by people who understand her, are consistent, and use Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) approaches. If you’re someone with a calm presence, emotional resilience, and a willingness to learn, this role is for you.

What You’ll Need:

A genuine passion for supporting people to live their best lives

Patience, empathy and great communication skills (verbal and non-verbal)

Experience with PBS or a strong willingness to be trained

A person-centred approach – always putting the individual first

The ability to work as part of a consistent and committed team
Experience supporting people with learning disabilities and/or autism is desirable

Schedule:

Day shift: 08:00 to 20:00 (7 Days a week)
Waking Nights: 20:00 to 08:00 (7 Days a week)
Overtime available

Licence/Certification:

Refer a friend bonus is payable at

£125 once the referred individual has successfully completed their first shift.

£125 once the referred individual has successfully completed their probation period.
