Seasonal Plant Area Assistant – Perrywood Tiptree
Fixed-term contract until December 2026
Working 4 days during the week (including bank holidays) and an alternate weekend day
8.30 am to 5 pm
Hourly rate: £10.85-£12.71 per hour
You will be working in our plant areas. Assisting the team in stocking up, moving and maintaining plants and moving trolleys, helping with basic customer queries.

Key duties
- Moving trolleys and stock from the greenhouses and stocking up plant displays
- Transferring and maintaining plants and moving promotional materials and displays
- Maintaining the cleanliness of the garden centre and stock areas, carrying out cleaning duties and minor maintenance works
- Support the current team with maintenance and stocking up of the plant areas
Your capabilities
- Good verbal communication and customer service skills, confidence in dealing with members of the public
- Able to follow instructions from your supervisors and work on your own initiative
- Able to lift, bend, carry or move plants and products
- You can push/pull several trollies across a site throughout the day and in all weathers
Requirements
- You’ll need to work four weekdays and one alternating day each weekend – Saturday one weekend, Sunday the next.
- As part of this role, you will be required to wear gloves (Personal Protective Equipment, or PPE) when handling certain crops, which may be for large parts of the day
