Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Dog Walker (solo walks) to join our team on a self employed basis, mainly working in Annitsford, Seghill and Seaton Delaval.

The ideal candidate will enjoy working outdoors and have a genuine passion for dogs. This role involves providing exercise, companionship, and basic care for dogs of various breeds and sizes, ensuring they receive the attention and activity they need for a healthy and happy life. Must be experienced/confident with strong, reactive dogs.

Duties

Taking dogs on scheduled walks in local area
Ensuring the safety and well-being of each dog during walks
Providing basic animal care, including feeding and administering medication if required (training provided)
Maintaining clean and organised equipment and walking areas
Building positive relationships with clients by updating them on their pets’ behaviour and health
Managing multiple dog walks throughout the day, adhering to scheduled times

Requirements

Up to date DBS (or willing to get one)
Animal care background is preferred but not essential
Genuine love for dogs and a caring attitude towards dogs of all sizes and temperaments
Excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with clients
Confident with strong/reactive dogs
Access to a vehicle to travel between client locations
Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
Must be reliable, organised and able to follow instructions accurately
Available Monday - Friday 10am - 4pm (including school holidays)
