Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Handyman or Handywoman to join our team at Hurstead House Care Home in Rochdale. This role is vital in ensuring the maintenance and safety of our facilities, supporting our mission to provide a comfortable and secure environment for our residents.
Responsibilities
- Perform general repairs and maintenance around the care home to ensure safety and functionality.
- Conduct carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, and other handyman tasks as needed.
- Assist with roofing, painting, masonry, welding, and fabrication tasks when required.
- Maintain tools and equipment in good working order.
- Collaborate with staff to identify repair needs and prioritize tasks.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Support the upkeep of the home's facilities to uphold a homely environment.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, or related trades.
- Familiarity with hand tools and power tools.
- Ability to perform roofing, painting, masonry, welding, and fabrication tasks is advantageous.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
