Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Sheet Metal Worker/Fabricator to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, and installing sheet metal components with precision and attention to detail. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong mechanical aptitude and experience in welding and fabrication processes. Responsibilities
- Fabricate sheet metal parts according to technical drawings and specifications using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment.
- Perform TIG welding and other welding techniques suitable for sheet metal work to ensure durable and high-quality joints.
- Measure, cut, bend, and assemble sheet metal components accurately using appropriate fabrication methods.
- Operate various machinery and tools safely, including hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics to ensure precise fabrication.
- Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to health and safety standards at all times.
- Assist in the installation of fabricated components on-site or within the workshop as required.
- Conduct quality checks on finished products to meet company standards and client specifications.
Skills
- Proficiency in TIG welding and other welding techniques relevant to sheet metal fabrication.
- Experience with welding standards and practices.
- Strong knowledge of hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment used in sheet metal work.
- Mechanical knowledge with the ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics.
- Competence in basic maths for measurements, calculations, and blueprint reading.
- Ability to perform assembly tasks accurately under supervision or independently.
- Good organisational skills with an eye for detail to ensure high-quality output.
- Physical fitness to handle lifting, standing for extended periods, and working in various positions within the workshop environment.
- Driving company vehicles to customers and suppliers when required.
