At Got Crabs Cornwall, we are expanding our team as we grow our shellfish production operation.
This is an opportunity to join a small team (4–8 people) working directly with local day-boat fishermen, handling world-class Cornish shellfish, and producing product that ends up in top restaurants across the UK.
Everything is processed in-house, so the quality depends on how well we do the work.
What We Are Offering
As well as being part of a high-standard, hands-on food business:
- £13.50 per hour
- Typically 25–40 hours per week
- Standard hours 8:00–16:00
- Possible weekend work in peak season (always optional)
- Immediate start available
- Full training and support
- Clear opportunity to grow into Production Lead or move into other areas of the business (live storage, sales, customer service)
About the Role
This is a hands-on production role focused on picking and preparing shellfish to a consistently high standard.
You will be working with premium crab and lobster sourced directly from local fishermen — product that is destined for some of the best kitchens in the country. The expectation is simple: the quality has to be right.
You will support the production team and Lead Picker to ensure orders are completed accurately and on time. Deadlines and targets matter, but they are never an excuse for poor standards.
This role is about nailing down a process to perfection and taking pride in executing it properly, every time.
Food safety and hygiene are non-negotiable. You will be working to strict EHO standards, and how you handle both product and workspace matters at all times.
Reliability is expected — the team depends on you being consistent and doing your job properly.
As an Overview, Your Tasks Will Involve

- Supporting daily production targets and deadlines
- Maintaining clean, organised work areas in line with hygiene standards
- Following food safety and operating procedures
- Keeping basic production records where required
