Job Summary
We are seeking a professional and attentive Hotel Night Porter to join our team at the Abbey Sands Hotel. As a night porter you will be responsible for ensuring the safety, security, and smooth operation of the hotel during night hours. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a passion for hospitality and guest services, providing a welcoming atmosphere for our guests while maintaining high standards of professionalism. Currently the nights team work a four on four off shift pattern averaging 35 hours a week, thereby necessitating weekend working.

Responsibilities

Welcome and assist guests arriving during night hours, ensuring a warm and professional first impression
Monitor the hotel premises to ensure safety and security for all guests and staff
Handle guest enquiries via phone and in person.
Manage late check-ins, check-outs, and room allocations as required
Respond promptly to any emergency situations or guest requests, providing efficient solutions
Maintain accurate records of guest arrivals, departures, and any incidents during the night shift
Conduct regular patrols of the hotel to identify maintenance issues or safety hazards
Collaborate with housekeeping and maintenance teams to address guest needs swiftly and effectively

Experience

Previous experience in a hotel or hospitality environment is preferred but not essential; training will be provided for suitable candidates
Strong guest service skills with a friendly and professional demeanour
Good phone etiquette and communication skills
Knowledge of hospitality standards and procedures is desirable but not mandatory; a genuine passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences is essential
