We are a manufacturer of orthopedic components/materials manufactured to high specifications for the medical industry. Our focus is to supply high quality medical products to exacting customer and international specifications, supported by our technical department, which can test polymeric materials to the highest standards. We are looking for a highly motivated individual to join our Technical Department.
Key Accountable Areas:
· Key account management of Component Customers, prime responsibility for introduction of all new products through DCM/Machining, bulk and crosslinking
· Perform key Project Management activities to facilitate the smooth functioning of the NPI department
· Liaise directly with the Senior Project Engineer and other key personnel on project management activities
· Provide regular reports to the Senior Project Engineer on NPI status
· To present guidance and direction to enable the smooth and safe functioning of the Technical Department activities, incorporating Laboratory and Quality Assurance
· To embody, understand, develop and advise on all scientific and technical issues that face the company in providing products and services to our customers
· Manage all relevant projects internally and externally and reports status to the leadership team
· Manage and actively develop all reports to continually enhance the level and resilience of expertise within the business
· Ensures that products are tested in a timely and correct manner
· To participate in industry conferences to ensure that leading edge research is understood and acted upon and promotion company products is optimised
· Resolves customer and internal complaints in a timely and correct manner
· Receives, interprets, approves and defines internally, customer material specifications
· Maintenance of all ISO / British and International registrations and accreditations
· Customer specifications approved on Q-Pulse and transferred to Manufacturing
· New programme management (components, DCM, bulk and HXL)
· Continuous process improvement
· R&D programme liaison
· Customer facing NPI Management
· Validation activities
· Kaizen/NPI management system development
· Route card inception
· BOM definition
· Customer Enquiry Quotations & Pricing
This Exciting Position Requires a Person Who Has:
· Close vision, distance vision, colour vision, etc. to inspect parts, blueprints
· Statistical knowledge and understanding of CNC machining principles is preferred
· Demonstrated proficiency in Solid Works or a similar CAD system
· An understanding of engineering drawings
· Experience in the use of Minitab is desirable
· Knowledge of PLC programming is advantageous
· Good problem-solving skills
· Strong written and oral communication skills
· Ability to work in a team environment
· Must be able to work with minimum supervision

· Tracking and identifying new opportunities to improve methodology and training

Hours of Employment
· Monday to Thursday 08.30 to 17.00 with 1 hour lunch
Friday 08.30 to 13.30 (35 hours)
· Duties and hours may vary dependent upon workload
