Role Summary
We are looking to recruit a number of Bar & Events Assistants to join the team at The Pavilion. In this role, you will support the delivery of a wide range of events and bar services, helping to create a welcoming, professional, and enjoyable experience for students, staff, and external customers.
You will play a key part in ensuring all spaces are prepared and maintained to a high standard, while delivering excellent customer service at all times. The role involves working as part of a team in a fast-paced environment, supporting bar operations, event set-ups, and maintaining high standards of safety, cleanliness, and professionalism.
This is a varied, hands-on role ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, thrives under pressure, and takes pride in delivering great service.
Working pattern
This is a casual position with no guaranteed or fixed hours. Shifts are offered based on business needs and will vary week to week.
The role requires full flexibility across weekdays, weekends, evenings, and late nights, with opportunities to pick up shifts during busy periods and events.
This position would suit someone looking for flexible work in a dynamic events and hospitality environment.
Key responsibilities

Deliver friendly, efficient service to customers, creating a welcoming experience at all times

Prepare and serve drinks while following licensing and safety guidelines

Support the smooth running of the bar, including taking orders, handling payments, and restocking

Help set up and deliver a variety of events, from small gatherings to large-scale functions

Maintain clean, safe, and well-presented bar and event spaces throughout your shift

Work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment, supporting colleagues to deliver great service
Essential requirements

The post holder must be 18 years of age or over

Experience of bar work and events

The post holder must be flexible to work Monday to Sunday, including daytime, evening and late-night shifts.
Desirable requirements:

Basic knowledge of licensing laws
