Job Title: Trade Counter and Warehouse Assistant

Main responsibilities: Please note that in addition to these responsibilities, employees are required to carry out such other duties as may reasonably be required.
· Contribute to delivering branch sales and gross profit in line with sales and targets by actively selling and promoting company products.
· Deal effectively with customers both in person and on the telephone, taking orders, helping to resolve customer’s problems and offering advice where possible.
· Ensure smooth delivery for customers and 100% satisfaction.
· Keep the shop display stocked with priced up goods and to perform stock checks when necessary
· Inform the Branch Manager of any shortages, low stocks or stock discrepancies
· Assist with checking goods in and taking action when required.
· Cash up at the end of the day when required, as well as organising couriers.
· Maintain an up to date knowledge of products and local industry in order to deliver exceptional customer service.
· Support marketing campaigns and promotions to ensure the maximum benefit is gained.
· Monitor and ensure the general housekeeping of the counter, trade shop area and warehouse and ensure that all company health and safety policies and procedures are adhered to.
· Build effective customer relationships to ensure that all sales opportunities are maximised.
· Help out at trade shows, exhibitions and events as required
· Assist other members of the shop and other internal colleagues when needed
· Adhere to all company policies and procedures, to include the Company Dress Code
- Inform management of any health & safety problems
- Suggest any improvements or ideas that would be of benefit to the company
- Act in the best interest of the company at all times
Skills, qualifications, experience level
Essential:
· Strong sales skills and experience of providing first class customer service.
· Good communication skills (written and verbal skills).
· Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills
· Professional personal presentation with the ability to work under pressure and to deadlines
· Good attention to detail
Desirable:
· Previous experience in building materials, engineering, tools and fixings or similar environment would be an advantage.
· Experience of working within a Trade Counter/Warehouse/Sales environment
Pay: £28,500.00 per year
