Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and reliable Night Care Assistant to provide high-quality care and support during overnight hours in a care home setting. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safety, comfort, and well-being of residents throughout the night. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals requiring assistance with daily activities and personal care. The ideal applicant will possess excellent communication skills, basic IT knowledge, and a caring attitude, with the ability to work independently during night shifts.

Duties

Monitor residents’ wellbeing throughout the night, responding promptly to their needs and emergencies.
Assist residents with personal care tasks such as washing, dressing, and mobility support in accordance with individual care plans.
Ensure the safety and security of the premises by conducting regular checks and maintaining accurate records of residents’ conditions.
Administer medication as prescribed, following strict protocols and documentation procedures.
Liaise effectively with day staff to ensure seamless continuity of care.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation within residents’ rooms and communal areas.
Support residents in engaging in recreational activities or providing companionship during quiet hours.
Document any incidents or concerns clearly and promptly using appropriate IT systems.

Experience

Previous experience working within a care home or home care environment is desirable but not essential; training will be provided.
Knowledge of care plans and understanding of individual resident needs is advantageous.
Basic IT skills for record keeping and communication purposes are required.
Good communication skills in English are essential for effective interaction with residents, colleagues, and families.
A valid driving licence is a plus but not mandatory; flexibility in working hours is important as shifts are overnight.

Pay: £13.50 per hour
