Minimum 3–5+ years experience in alterations or tailoring (more experienced candidates welcome)

Seamstress / Tailor – Alterations Specialist

We are a busy and well-established alterations shop dedicated to delivering high-quality tailoring and garment alterations for our valued clients. We pride ourselves on precision, craftsmanship, and excellent customer service, working with a wide range of garments from everyday wear to occasion and formal pieces.

We are currently seeking an experienced, reliable, and skilled Seamstress / Tailor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in garment alterations, exceptional attention to detail, and confidence working with a variety of fabrics and garment types.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out clothing alterations and repairs to a high standard, including hemming, resizing, restyling, and repairs
Work on a variety of garments such as dresses, suits, trousers, coats, bridalwear, and occasionwear
Perform both hand stitching and machine sewing with precision
Conduct fittings with customers when required and ensure garments meet client expectations
Provide advice to customers on alterations and fit improvements
Maintain a clean, organised, and efficient workspace
Ensure all work is completed within agreed timeframes
Handle garments with care and maintain professionalism at all times

Requirements

Based in the UK
Strong knowledge of garment construction and finishing techniques
Ability to work with a wide range of fabrics including delicate and structured materials
High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
Good communication and customer service skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong time management skills and ability to meet deadlines

Schedule: [ Monday–Saturday / Flexible shifts]
