ASPH is the largest provider of acute hospital services in Surrey serving a population of over 410,000 people in North West Surrey, parts of Hounslow and beyond. Following our successful bid we are the lead provider for the Surrey Integrated Musculoskeletal Service (iMSK). We have the highest-level care in both our NICU and ITU with excellent training programmes and specialist pharmacists to develop your skills in these specialist areas.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and committed pharmacist to join our clinical pharmacy team.
A structured training and development programme will be provided offering exciting rotations through specialities such as, Critical Care (level 3), Paediatrics in our tertiary neonatal intensive care unit (level 3), Musculoskeletal (MSK), Medicine (including Respiratory, Cardiology, Gastroenterology and Frailty), Haematology, Surgery (including Colorectal, Orthopaedics & Bariatrics) and Medicines Information. There is also opportunity to gain experience in antimicrobial stewardship, medicines safety, education & training, palliative care and clinical trials. You will work closely with and be fully supported by the divisional and service lead pharmacists and their teams.

St Peter’s Hospital delivers complex medical and surgical care, maternity and emergency services. Day and orthopaedic surgery, ophthalmology and outpatient services are delivered at Ashford Hospital. Additional services are delivered at Woking Community Hospital.

If you are looking for a exciting role in which to develop your skills and knowledge then this post will provide an excellent opportunity for you, while providing you with all the support and training that you need. The successful candidate will have the patient at the centre of all they do, possess strong communication skills and be able to work well as part of a multidisciplinary team.
After a period of embedding as a clinical pharmacist, you will have the opportunity to undertake a diploma in Clinical Pharmacy and the independent prescribing course. Progression from a Band 6 to Band 7 is automatic once the relevant milestones have been satisfied.
You will need to be organised, well-motivated and have excellent people skills, as well as the ability to adapt quickly to new situations and show initiative.
You must be, or about to be, registered as a Pharmacist with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC). Applications are welcome from all sectors of pharmacy practice, including hospital, community, primary care, industry and academia.
These are full time posts, with commitment required to evening, weekend, Bank Holiday and on-call duties as per rota.
