About the Role
We are seeking compassionate, skilled, and reliable Registered General Nurses (RGNs) to join our agency team, providing high-quality nursing care across a range of care home settings.
This is an excellent opportunity for experienced nurses looking for flexible working hours while delivering exceptional, person-centred care to residents. You will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care, ensuring residents receive safe, effective, and dignified support at all times.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality nursing care in accordance with individual care plans and current clinical best practice.
- Assess residents' physical, emotional, and clinical needs, ensuring appropriate interventions are implemented.
- Safely administer and manage medications in line with NMC guidelines and company policies.
- Monitor residents' health, identify changes in condition, and escalate concerns appropriately.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential clinical records using electronic and paper-based systems.
- Lead and support Care Assistants, ensuring high standards of care are maintained throughout each shift.
- Liaise effectively with GPs, community healthcare professionals, residents, and their families.
- Respond appropriately to medical emergencies and changing clinical needs.
- Promote residents' dignity, independence, wellbeing, and person-centred care.
- Ensure compliance with safeguarding, infection prevention and control, health and safety, and regulatory standards.
Essential Requirements
- Current NMC registration as a Registered General Nurse (RGN) with no restrictions on practice.
- Previous nursing experience within a UK nursing home is essential.
- Excellent clinical assessment and medication management skills.
- Strong knowledge of safeguarding, infection control, and clinical governance.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Good IT skills for maintaining accurate clinical documentation.
- Flexible and reliable with a professional approach.
Desirable
- Experience caring for elderly residents, including those living with dementia, complex nursing needs, or palliative care requirements.
- Valid UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (beneficial for travelling between placements where required).
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) training and other relevant mandatory training.
