Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a friendly and organised Retail & Post Office Assistant to join our team. This role involves providing excellent customer service, handling postal transactions, and supporting merchandising activities within our retail environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills and demonstrate a professional attitude. This position offers an opportunity to develop valuable skills in retail operations and customer engagement while contributing to a welcoming shopping experience.

Duties

Assisting customers with postal services, including mailing parcels, selling stamps, and managing postal transactions efficiently
Providing excellent customer service by addressing enquiries and offering product recommendations
Managing merchandising displays to ensure the store remains attractive and well-stocked
Handling cash register operations with accuracy and integrity
Maintaining organisation within the store, including stock replenishment and cleanliness
Communicating effectively with customers and demonstrating strong phone etiquette when required

Requirements

Fluency in English is essential
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Post Office Horizon experience preferred but not essential, as full training will be provided
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage time effectively during busy periods
Basic maths skills for handling cash transactions accurately
Experience or interest in merchand
Ability to provide friendly, professional service while maintaining a positive attitude
Good organisational skills to keep the workspace tidy and efficient
Ability to work well under pressure and adapt quickly to changing priorities
Must be able to work weekends
