About the role:
As a DA Refuge Manager, In this role you will be responsible for the day to day running of this service. You will be doing rotas, managing staff, training staff, assisting with benefit claims, using computer systems, conducting talks and presentations to local authorities, the public and other organisations and much more.
You will have a strong background in working with people who have been victims of domestic violence and abuse. You will have managerial experience in a similar setting and it would be advantageous if you have worked with people with complex needs before.
To provide line management and support to staff. This will include providing supervision on complex casework issues such as child protection, adult safeguarding and overseeing operational emergencies and ensuring high standards of casework.
To ensure that contractual and other funding requirements are met fully and that Refuge's high-quality standards are maintained.
As a member of the management team, the post holder will be required to participate with other managers in an out-of-hours management service.
To welcome new BME residents into culturally sensitive accommodation and ensure a smooth and friendly settling in and issuing bedding, culturally sensitive crockery, food etc.
You will support staff through monthly supervision meetings.
Ideally qualified at degree level, along with other relevant qualification or equivalent experience in work with vulnerable people especially women and children, you will have an in-depth knowledge of relevant legislations such as the Children’s Act, Safeguarding Children, Safeguarding Vulnerable Adults, Domestic Violence Crime and Victims Act, Forced Marriages (Civil Protection) Act 2007, and the new Domestic Abuse Bill. You will need a clear DBS.
