Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organised Bookkeeper / Office & Account Manager (Part-Time) to join our team. This role involves managing financial records, overseeing accounts payable, and supporting administrative functions within our organisation. The ideal candidate will have experience with Xero accounting software programme and possess excellent organisational skills to ensure the smooth operation of our financial and administrative processes. This position offers flexible hours suitable for individuals seeking part-time work while contributing significantly to our business operations.

Responsibilities

Maintain accurate financial records using accounting software in Xero
Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely processing of invoices and payments
Prepare and submit VAT return
Prepare and process payroll
Reconcile bank statements and prepare financial reports as required
Assist with payroll processing and employee expense claims
Support administrative duties including scheduling, correspondence, and document organisation
Liaise with external accountants or auditors during audits or financial reviews
Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and internal policies
Organise and update client and supplier contact information within the system
Provide general office support to facilitate efficient daily operations

Qualifications

Proven experience in bookkeeping or accounting roles, ideally within a small to medium-sized organisation
Proficiency in accounting software Xero is essential
Strong understanding of accounts payable processes and financial management principles
Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to prioritise tasks effectively whilst managing multiple responsibilities
Good communication skills, both written and verbal
A recognised qualification in bookkeeping or accounting is desirable but not mandatory
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a part-time capacity

Pay: £17.00 per hour
