Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and reliable Night Care Assistant to provide high-quality care and support during overnight hours in a care home setting. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safety, comfort, and well-being of residents throughout the night. Duties
- Monitor residents’ wellbeing throughout the night, responding promptly to their needs and emergencies.
- Assist residents with personal care tasks such as washing, dressing, and mobility support in accordance with individual care plans.
- Ensure the safety and security of the premises by conducting regular checks and maintaining accurate records of residents’ conditions.
- Administer medication as prescribed, following strict protocols and documentation procedures.
- Liaise effectively with day staff to ensure seamless continuity of care.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation within residents’ rooms and communal areas.
- Support residents in engaging in recreational activities or providing companionship during quiet hours.
- Document any incidents or concerns clearly and promptly using appropriate IT systems.
Experience
- Previous experience working within a care home or home care environment is desirable but not essential; training will be provided.
- Knowledge of care plans and understanding of individual resident needs is advantageous.
- Basic IT skills for record keeping and communication purposes are required.
- Good communication skills in English are essential for effective interaction with residents, colleagues, and families.
- A valid driving licence is a plus but not mandatory; flexibility in working hours is important as shifts are overnight.
