About the Role
British Esports is seeking a creative, commercially minded and highly organised Marketing Executive to support the delivery of marketing activity across our growing portfolio of brands, venues, events and programmes. Reporting to the Commercial Vice President, you will play a key role in planning and executing integrated marketing campaigns that drive engagement, increase brand awareness, generate commercial opportunities and support organisational growth.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone with experience across digital marketing, social media, paid advertising and campaign management. You will work collaboratively with colleagues across the organisation to promote British Esports, the National Esports Performance Campus, The Place, British Arena, Student Champs, IDEG and a range of events, programmes and commercial initiatives.
The successful candidate will be passionate about marketing, understand the esports and gaming landscape, and be motivated by delivering measurable results through creative, data-driven campaigns.
Job Purpose
To develop, coordinate and deliver effective marketing campaigns across the organisation that strengthen brand awareness, drive audience engagement, support commercial growth and enhance the reputation of British Esports and its associated brands, venues and programmes. Working closely with internal stakeholders and external partners, the Marketing Executive will ensure all marketing activity is strategically aligned, commercially focused and delivers measurable outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Marketing Planning and Campaign Management
- Develop and maintain an organisation wide marketing plan supporting all business units.
- Produce and manage detailed marketing schedules for campaigns, launches and events.
- Coordinate marketing activity across British Esports, The Place, British Arena, National Esports Performance Campus, IDEG, Student Champs and other organisation wide events and activations.
- Ensure campaigns meet our corporate identity, engage our audience and are delivered on time, on budget and against agreed objectives.
- Support the Commercial Vice President to deliver strategic marketing priorities.
Social Media Management
- Take ownership of all organisational social media channels across multiple brands.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive social media strategy.
- Build and manage detailed content calendars across all platforms.
- Schedule, publish and optimise content using appropriate management tools.
- Work closely with the Content Manager and external partners to brief, coordinate and deliver creative assets.
- Ensure brand consistency whilst tailoring messaging for different audiences.
- Monitor emerging trends and identify opportunities to increase engagement and audience growth.
Paid Media and Digital Marketing
- Plan, create and manage paid social media campaigns across Meta, LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube and other relevant platforms.
- Deliver Google Ads campaigns including Search, Display and Performance Max where appropriate.
- Manage advertising budgets effectively with a clear focus on commercial return.
- Build targeted audiences, retargeting campaigns and lookalike audiences.
- Continually optimise campaigns using data and performance insights.
- Produce clear reporting demonstrating ROI, lead generation, attendance, bookings and commercial performance.
Events and Commercial Marketing
- Support the promotion and delivery of conferences, competitions, tournaments, hospitality events and venue activities.
- Work alongside the Business Development Manager to promote commercial opportunities and partner campaigns.
- Support venue marketing for The Place and British Arena.
- Lead with sponsorship activation campaigns and partner marketing commitments for maximum impact, return and partnership value creation.
- Develop promotional campaigns that support education programs, event ticket sales, venue bookings, accommodation and commercial income.
Marketing Performance
- Monitor campaign performance using Google Analytics, Meta Business Suite and other reporting platforms.
- Produce regular reports demonstrating engagement, reach, conversions and ROI.
- Identify trends and recommend improvements based on evidence.
- Support the Commercial Vice President with campaign evaluation and future planning.
Collaboration
- Work closely with the Commercial Vice President, Content Manager and partners to ensure creative assets are planned and delivered in line with campaign requirements.
- Collaborate with colleagues across Education, Operations, Events, Commercial and Partnerships.
- Coordinate marketing activity with external agencies, sponsors, suppliers and commercial partners where required.
Essential Skills and Experience
- Understanding of esports and gaming communities.
- Significant experience successfully managing multiple social media platforms professionally.
- Proven experience planning and delivering successful digital marketing campaigns.
- Demonstrable experience managing paid advertising across Meta and Google.
- Evidence of delivering measurable commercial outcomes through marketing activity.
- Strong understanding of current social media best practice and emerging trends.
- Excellent campaign planning and project management skills.
- Experience producing detailed marketing plans and content schedules.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret marketing data.
- Excellent written communication and copywriting skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Commercially minded with a proactive, solution focused approach.
- Confident working both independently and collaboratively.
Desirable
- Experience working within events, venues, education, hospitality or sport.
- Experience using CRM platforms and email marketing software.
- Knowledge of SEO and website content management.
- Experience using scheduling platforms such as Hootsuite, or similar.
- Experience working with Adobe Creative Cloud.
- Experience promoting ticketed events.
- Experience supporting sponsorship activation.
Pay: £30,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
