- Starting beginning SEPTEMBER 2026 (or sooner) - TERM TIME HOURS
- After school - Monday to Friday 2.30pm to 6pm 17.5hrs
- Term Time - Before School: 7.30am to 9am initially 4 days per week Tuesday to Friday - 6hrs - May increase to 5 mornings per week
- Total Term time hours up to 25 hors
- Additional overtime hours during school holidays between 7.30am to 6pm based on shift rota
- Job share considered
- Successful completion of 3 month probationary period required. Temporary one year contract with permanent contract offered for a suitable candidate.

Main duties for both roles include:
- Assist with planning, preparing and delivering quality play opportunities within a safe and caring environment.
- Providing comprehensive care for children from Reception, (aged 4) to Year 7, (aged 12).
- Setting up the play space including moving furniture and play equipment.
- Providing refreshments and ensuring that hygiene and health and safety standards are met.
- Administering first aid when necessary.
- Consulting with children and involving them in planning activities.
- Helping with club administration where necessary.
- Proving parents with information.
- Facilitating good communication with all members of the organisation, parents and the school.
- Undertaking appropriate and relevant training.
- Keeping the work environment safe and secure.
- Working within the framework of the club’s policies and procedures.
Qualities and skills
- A positive 'can do' approach with an enjoyment for playing games and creative activities.
- Can you think on your feet and 'magic' up activities if a child says they don't know what to do?
- Can you switch from paying snakes and ladders to dodge ball at a moments notice?
- Can you organise large group games and understand the safety needs all participants?
- Understand the varied needs of children and their families
- Understand the issues involved in the delivery of quality play care
- Understanding the issues of equal opportunities
- Good communication skills
- Able to work as part of a small team
- Sound judgement and common sense
- Good sense of humour and fun
- Sufficient understanding and use of English to ensure the well-being of the children
You will be expected to commit fully to additional training as required such as paediatric first aid, safeguarding, food hygiene etc.
