Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Pre-School Assistant to join our early childhood education team. The ideal candidate will support the delivery of a nurturing, engaging, and safe environment for young children. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about childcare, management, and leadership within a vibrant educational setting. The successful applicant will be responsible for assisting with daily activities, fostering children's development, and maintaining effective communication with colleagues and parents. Previous nursery experience and a background in early childhood education are highly desirable.

Responsibilities

Support the planning and implementation of age-appropriate activities that promote learning and development
Assist in supervising children during playtime, meals, and nap times to ensure their safety and well-being
Foster positive relationships with children, encouraging social skills, independence, and confidence
Maintain a clean, organised, and stimulating environment conducive to early learning
Communicate effectively with parents regarding children's progress and daily routines
Support management in organising classroom resources and materials
Uphold health and safety standards in accordance with childcare regulations
Contribute to team meetings and participate in ongoing professional development opportunities
Assist with administrative tasks as required, including record keeping and reporting

Qualifications

Experience working with children in a nursery or early childhood setting is preferred
Knowledge of early childhood education principles and childcare regulations
Strong management and organisational skills to support classroom activities effectively
Leadership qualities with the ability to work collaboratively within a team
Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
Ability to engage positively with young children, demonstrating patience and empathy
Valid driving licence is advantageous for transporting children or resources when necessary
A recognised qualification in childcare or early years education is desirable but not essential
