Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and organised Medical Secretary to join our healthcare team. This vital role involves providing administrative support to medical practitioners, ensuring the smooth operation of the practice, and delivering excellent service to patients. The ideal candidate will possess strong office and administrative experience, with a keen eye for detail and excellent communication skills. This position offers an opportunity to work in a professional environment committed to patient care and organisational excellence.

Responsibilities

Answering phone calls and directing enquiries appropriately
Maintaining accurate patient records and updating medical files securely
Preparing and processing correspondence, reports, and medical documentation
Handling incoming and outgoing mail, emails, and faxes
Assisting with billing procedures and processing insurance claims where applicable
Supporting medical staff with administrative tasks as required
Complying with confidentiality policies and data protection regulations at all times

Qualifications

Proven office experience, preferably within a healthcare setting
Strong administrative skills with proficiency in office software programmes such as MS Office, Emis
Excellent organisational abilities and attention to detail
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to prioritise tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Professional demeanour with a compassionate approach towards patients and colleagues
Knowledge of medical terminology is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided for the right candidate
