We are looking for one enthusiastic candidate with motivation and commitment to join the team as Pre-Registration Training Pharmacy Technicians (PTPT) Apprentice to contribute to our team. You will join us for a two-year Level 3 Pharmacy Technician Apprenticeship Programme to gain knowledge and experience to understand, learn and implement the skills required to become a Registered Pharmacy Technician, whilst rotating to different Technical and Clinical areas of the Medicines Management Team.
We welcome applications from anyone with an interest in science, an aspiration to work in Meds Management or those who would like to further their career in Meds Management. You will have a good knowledge of English and Maths.
Our PTPTs support medicines supply throughout the Trust through the dispensary, stores & distribution, ward - and community-based teams. You will be an excellent communicator, be caring and passionate about patients, and be able to adapt to working with colleagues of all levels. You will deliver excellent patient care through continually improving the quality of the service. You will be enthusiastic, flexible, and have good time & workload management skills. You will need to be able to evaluate & change priorities at short notice to meet the needs of the service.
You will be conscientious & able to self-manage your workload, be committed & self-motivated to completing the required learning on time & maintaining your progress against the learning objectives.
During your training, you will also complete your Accuracy Checking Training. You will contribute to the efficient running of the dispensary, helping to prioritise work and solve problems. You will rotate between the mental health, secure and intermediate care services. Ward & clinical work will focus on developing medicines reconciliation skills, optimising the use of patients’ own drugs, minimising medicines waste and improving medicines governance.
Full training will be provided with our current learning provider. You will be allocated study time each week (or equivalent) and will be supported to identify an appropriate and flexible environment.
Upon successful completion of your apprenticeship, you will gain a formal qualification and will be eligible to register with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) as a Pharmacy Technician
The new team is committed to developing our future workforce: we will ensure that you have regular management and clinical supervision and an annual appraisal. We will support you to develop personally and professionally for your future role with the Trust.

Applicants must not hold a level 4 qualification or above, unless it is ‘materially different’ from the apprenticeship. Queries in relation to prior qualifications will be individually assessed by the apprenticeship training provider.
Applicants must have been in the UK for 3 years and those with temporary right to work must be on a visa that allows access to government funding, in addition you will need to have a visa that is greater than the length of the course plus an additional 6 months after to account for any additional resits. As this is a requirement, those who do not have the above won't be able to progress onto the next stage in the process.
Four GCSEs at grade C or above (New level 4-9) in English Language, Maths, Science and one other subject.
