Job Overview: Insurance Consultant (Existing Business - Thatch Specialist)
You'll be responsible for looking after an established portfolio of clients and helping us maintain an exceptional 98% client retention rate.
We are the UK's only whole of market insurance broker specialising in thatched properties, giving you the opportunity to develop expertise in a genuinely specialist area of the insurance market.
Pay, Hours & Perks
- Pay: £28,700 starting salary + monthly team retention performance bonus.
- Holiday: 28 days annual leave (includes bank holidays) + 3 additional paid days off between Christmas and New Year + long-service extra days.

Core Responsibilities
- Portfolio & Client Management: Build relationships with existing clients, explain policy features/exclusions, process renewals, and execute midterm adjustments.
- Negotiation & Service: Negotiate policy terms with insurers to achieve positive client outcomes while hitting retention targets and service KPIs.
- Compliance & Accuracy: Maintain accurate records, manage complex cases, and comply with all regulatory and internal underwriting standards.
Key Requirements
- Essential Experience: Proven background in home/property insurance (or a closely related insurance role).
- Strong phone manner, rapport-building skills, and clear written communication for client/insurer correspondence.
- Commercially aware with strong negotiation skills and high attention to detail in a compliance driven environment.
- Highly organized, self-motivated, and eager to build specialist niche knowledge in thatch property insurance.
