Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Tile Setter to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, replacing, and repairing tiles in various settings, including residential and commercial properties. This role requires a keen eye for detail, excellent craftsmanship, and the ability to interpret schematics and technical drawings. Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, levelling, and applying appropriate substrates for tile installation
- Measure and mark layout lines according to project specifications and schematics
- Cut tiles accurately using hand tools and power tools to fit designated spaces
- Install tiles securely using suitable adhesives, grouts, and sealants
- Ensure all work adheres to safety standards and building codes
- Maintain a clean work environment by tidying tools and disposing of waste materials responsibly
- Collaborate with other trades such as carpenters and painters to ensure seamless project completion
- Inspect finished work for quality assurance and rectify any imperfections or issues
- Have own tools and transport to get to sites
Experience
- Proven experience as a Tile Setter or in a similar construction role specialising in tiling
- Tiling domestic bathrooms and kitchens
- Proficiency with hand tools such as trowels, chisels, and levels
- Familiarity with power tools including wet saws, drills, and grinders
- Knowledge of schematics, technical drawings, and construction plans
- Experience working with carpentry or construction painting is advantageous but not essential
- Ability to interpret technical instructions accurately and work independently or as part of a team
- Strong understanding of health and safety regulations within the construction environment
