Full job description

Pentagon Transport Ltd are looking for a Transport Coordinator to join our Aberdeen team.

As Transport Coordinator you will support the transport function of the business, with the co-ordination of Local Transport road shipments from start to finish, including quotation. Operating and planning key account in storage and distribution and planning delivery schedule, updating Warehouse and relevant planning departments. Controlling Local transport Costs/Sub Contactor costs and ensuring all PODS are received and updated in the System. ensuring that clients receive excellent customer service throughout all aspects of their enquiry. You will liaise with internal & external clients for all transport related issues and bookings.

Transport coordinator is responsible and accountable for (but not limited to) the following:

Provide competitive pricing and transport solutions to clients that meets their needs
Ensuring that awarded jobs and processed and followed through to completion
Provide proactive updates to clients, resolving any issues that may arise
Billing clients as per working SOPs
Producing and completing all necessary paperwork, such as pre-alerts, CMRs
Liaising with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth running of transport service
Ensure job files are processed and completed within the TMS
Load planning for both domestic and international trailers

Experience and Knowledge:

Local and Domestic Road Freight Experience
Load and Trailer Planning Knowledge
Dangerous Goods Knowledge (desirable)
Willingness to learn
Attention to detail
Forward thinking
Good communication skills
Be a team player
Good working with numbers
Computer literate
