Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Nurse to join our dynamic team. As part of our close-knit team, you’ll play a vital role in delivering care for a variety of medical and surgical cases. Our practice is equipped with advanced diagnostic tools and offers both routine and complex surgeries, such as Zlig procedures, tiebacks, orthopaedics, laparoscopic spays, soft tissue cases, and dental imaging/surgery. You will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care to our patients and support to our Veterinary Surgeons. This position requires a blend of technical skills, empathy, and a passion for animal welfare. You will be working in a fast-paced environment where your contributions will directly impact the health and well-being of animals.
We encourage our nurses to lead a variety of nurse clinics along with delivering therapeutic laser treatments. We also have a hydrotherapy centre on site with a dedicated team who provide rehabilitation for a variety of conditions.
Our RVNs take an active role in out-of-hours care, which is shared across the team. As part of the out-of-hours commitment, applicants must reside within a 30-minute commute of the practice to ensure a prompt response when required.
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care to patients throughout their treatment and recovery.
- Assist veterinary surgeons with consultations, diagnostic procedures, surgical procedures, and inpatient care.
- Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments in accordance with veterinary instructions.
- Prepare patients for surgery and monitor anaesthesia throughout procedures.
- Perform laboratory tests and process diagnostic samples as required.
- Support and educate clients on post-operative care, preventative healthcare, nutrition, and general animal wellbeing.
- Ensure the high standards of hygiene, cleanliness, and organisation are maintained throughout the practice.
- Contribute to the smooth day-to-day running of the practice and work collaboratively as part of the wider clinical team.
- Participate in the out-of-hours rota and provide emergency nursing care when required.
Experience
- RCVS registered Veterinary Nurse (or due to qualify shortly)
- Previous experience in a veterinary practice is highly desirable.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients and team members.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
- A genuine passion for animal care and welfare is crucial for success in this role.

- Position suitable for new or recently qualified RVN or experienced RVN
