About the role
Do you have a passion for providing exceptional customer satisfaction and continuous improvement? We're searching for a dedicated Quality Control Manager to drive a culture of excellence across our organisation.
Role purpose
To lead the company's Quality Control function across incoming cotton greige cloth, dyeing, waxing, finishing, inspection, testing, release and customer complaint resolution.
The role provides an independent quality voice within the production leadership team and works alongside Production, Technical and Engineering to improve right-first-time manufacture, reduce waste, prevent repeat defects and strengthen customer confidence.
Key responsibilities
Management of the following functions and team
Quality Control Leadership - lead the QC function across incoming goods, in-process inspection, final inspection, testing and product release.
In Process Quality Control - define and manage QC checks through dyeing, drying, waxing, finishing and packing
Final Inspection and release - dwn the release process for finished goods. Ensuring products are inspected against agreed industry/customer standards before dispatch.
Laboratory and technical testing - work closely with the Technical Manager and Lab Technicians to ensure test methods, tolerances and specifications are understood and applied consistently.
Essential Knowledge, Skills & Experience
Quality Control Leadership
Manage, develop and schedule QC Technicians and QC Operators.
Set clear standards for inspection, batch approval, non-conformance handling, rework and release.
Ensure QC decisions are independent, evidence-based and not compromised by production pressure.
Provide regular quality performance reporting to the Production Director.
In Process Quality Control
Ensure first-off checks, batch checks and final checks are completed and
recorded.
Monitor key quality characteristics including colour/shade, handle, finish, width, GSM, wax pick-up, dimensional stability, appearance and customer-specific requirements.
Escalate quality risks quickly to the Production Director and relevant peer managers.
Final Inspection and release
Maintain retained samples, shade standards, customer standards and defect libraries.
Approve, reject, quarantine or escalate batches based on objective QC evidence.
Laboratory and technical testing
Coordinate testing requirements such as colour measurement, shade
assessment, rub/crock fastness, wash fastness, shrinkage, water repellency,
wax performance, tensile/tear strength and other relevant textile tests.
Ensure test results are linked to batch records and release decisions.
Qualifications
Essential - good general education, with strong numeracy, literacy and IT skills. Demonstrable quality management or quality control experience in manufacturing.
Desirable - textile, chemistry, materials, quality management, manufacturing or engineering qualification; ISO 9001 internal auditor training; Lean/Six Sigma or structured problem-solving training.

Salary - competitive salary - depending on qualifications & experience
