Mechanic / MOT Tester

We are seeking an experienced MOT tester and Vehicle Technician to join our small team. We are a busy family run independent garage with strong customer focused principles.

The successful candidate will be a Class 4 MOT tester and vehicle technician with at least 5 years experience , responsible for inspecting, maintaining, and repairing a variety of vehicles while ensuring they meet all legal safety and environmental standards. If you take pride in delivering high-quality workmanship and excellent customer service, we'd love to hear from you.

Duties

Conduct comprehensive MOT tests in accordance with DVSA regulations and safety standards.
Perform servicing, repairs, and maintenance on a wide range of vehicles.
Repair and replace components including brakes, suspension, steering, tyres, clutches, timing belts etc
Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using specialist diagnostic equipment.
Carry out vehicle inspections and identify any additional repair requirements.
Use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment safely and efficiently.
Carry out vehicle inspections and identify any additional repair requirements.
Friendly and approachable manner and able to deliver great customer service.
Complete all work to a high standard within agreed timescales.
Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, and servicing.
Keep the workshop clean, organised, and compliant with all health and safety regulations.

Experience & Skills

Proven experience as a qualified vehicle mechanic/technician.
Valid MOT Tester license (class 4)
Strong mechanical knowledge with fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
Competent in the use of workshop tools, diagnostic equipment, and modern repair techniques.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
Hold a full UK driving license

Working Hours

8.30 - 5.30 Monday -Friday

Salary

Based on experience

Pay: £38,000.00-£42,000.00 per year
