This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated physiotherapist to join the long term condition therapies team and specifically work within the multi-disciplinary pulmonary rehabilitation (PR) service.
The post holder will be involved with the ongoing development of the PR service, with an emphasis on providing both face to face and digital service options to meet the needs of our respiratory population within the health board. We want to see this service continue to be developed and implemented at pace to enable the vision of supporting people in CTMUHB to achieve their maximum potential - physically, cognitively, socially and psychologically (AHP Framework, 2019).
The post holder will need to be passionate about respiratory medicine and rehabilitation, be flexible and embrace change, and work well independently as well as within a multi-disciplinary team setting. Innovation and passion for improving patient care are essential, with confidence to incorporate digital skills within service delivery. You will be working with not only the PR team but also linking with the wider HB respiratory team, physiotherapy team and across therapies within a Long Term Condition Management team. This will offer excellent opportunities for learning and development within the respiratory and rehabilitation area of physiotherapy.
To provide a high standard pulmonary rehabilitation service that ensures best current, evidence based clinical management of respiratory patients. Working within a variety of settings, the post holder will be expected to plan and organise their own caseload, providing physiotherapy assessment, education and rehabilitation plans for patients within the specialty, balancing other patient related and professional demands in order that the physiotherapy case load meets with University Health Board objectives.
The post holder will take delegated responsibility from the lead physiotherapist for the pulmonary rehabilitation service, providing specialist assessments and advice on pulmonary rehabilitation, therapeutic interventions and to liaise with and advise patients/parents/guardians/carers and others as required.
The post holder will be required to supervise physiotherapy Health Care Support Workers, guide/mentor band 5 physiotherapists and physiotherapy students. The post holder will work with and regularly teach, assess and contribute to the performance assessment and appraisal of Band 5 newly qualified physiotherapists (Band 5) and physiotherapy Health Care Support Workers (Bands 2/3/4).
There will also be a responsibility for teaching student physiotherapists to graduate level on physiotherapeutic skills and knowledge within core clinical areas.

Welsh Skills Desirable: This post is advertised as Welsh Desirable. This doesn’t mean essential; whilst the candidate doesn't need to have skills in Welsh, we'll consider it an advantage when short-listing and selecting candidates. This isn’t ‘fluency’, just Speaking & Listening skills at Level 3 (equivalent to CEFR B2) or above. Level 3 means basic conversations with patients about their everyday health.
