Full job description

We are looking for self-employed mentors with a mental health specialism to support students in person at Aberystwyth University. As a Specialist Mentor (MH) you will be supporting students with mental health challenges manage their lives at university. This is a highly rewarding and impactful role that can make a huge difference to a student's life. Working with the students you will provide strategies and techniques to help them cope. Some of things that you will be supporting them with include:

* Managing feelings of overwhelm

* Motivational problems

* Procrastination

* Concentration and focus

* Difficulties adapting to independence

* Social inclusion

We are looking for individuals who have had experience working with young people with a mental health diagnosis. You will need to hold a professional body membership for this position. If you are unsure which professional body memberships are accepted, please get in touch.

Please only apply if you are willing to meet students face-to-face. We are seeing an increase in enquiries for in person support, so while there will inevitably be some online stuff, we are only actively recruiting for mentors who can see students face-to-face.
