KS3 Teaching Assistant
We are looking for a candidate who has a true passion for inspiring and preparing children and young people with SEND for adulthood. We require someone that is compassionate, empathetic and willing to get stuck into everything, whether that be participating in PE lessons or getting their hands dirty in an art class. This candidate must also be extremely supportive and willing to form meaningful relationships with children that have a range of complex needs.
This is more than a classroom role. It’s about building trust, celebrating progress (no matter how small) and being a steady, positive presence for pupils who may need a little extra patience and understanding.

We’re Looking for Someone Who:
· Is kind, patient and genuinely pupil-focused
· Has experience working with children or young people (SEND experience is desirable but not essential)
· Understands that behaviour is communication
· Can stay calm, flexible and positive in challenging moments
· Believes every pupil deserves to feel valued and capable

Qualifications & Requirements:
· Minimum qualifications required – A recognised Teaching Assistant qualification or a background in education or care (NVQ, CACHE, Degree or equivalent)
· Experience supporting children with SEND
· Passionate working with young children or adults with disabilities

Pay Rate: £14.60 - £16.90 per hour
Working Hours
8.30am – 3.30pm
Monday – Friday
Term-time only
Safeguarding children is an integral part of what we do and we have a stringent safer recruitment process. We undertake checks on all the candidates we work with. As such we require a current Enhanced DBS Disclosure for everyone working in Schools. If you do not have a subscription to the DBS Update Service, you may be required to complete a new DBS application as part of the registration process. If you take a temporary role with Sense Education you will be paid on a weekly basis. All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position but long term. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
Pay: £14.60-£16.90 per hour
