Overview
We are seeking an experience and reliable Bookkeeper to join our team at Astute App to maintain accurate financial records and support the financial administration of the business.
Astute App is a United Kingdom-based business and funding-readiness platform established to bridge the gap between businesses seeking finance and the lenders, investors and financial intermediaries capable of supporting their growth.
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining complete, accurate and up-to-date records of Astute App’s financial transactions, as well as reviewing income and expenditure, reconciling accounts, organising financial documents and preparing clear monthly financial summaries for management.
Duties
- Recording and categorising all business income and expenditure.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date digital bookkeeping records.
- Reviewing and reconciling business bank accounts, company credit cards and payment platforms.
- Matching invoices, receipts and payment confirmations to the relevant transactions.
- Raising and recording customer invoices where required.
- Monitoring outstanding customer payments and maintaining an updated debtor schedule.
- Recording supplier invoices and maintaining a creditor schedule.
- Monitoring recurring subscriptions, direct debits and operational expenses.
- Maintaining clear records of directors’ loans, business loans, repayments and capital contributions.
- Supporting the tracking of subscription income, consultation fees, service fees and other Astute App revenue streams.
- Preparing monthly income and expenditure summaries.
- Producing monthly profit and loss reports for management review.
- Assisting with cash-flow monitoring and financial forecasting.
- Organising financial documents for the company’s accountant.
- Supporting the preparation of records required for VAT returns, corporation tax, payroll and annual accounts.
- Identifying missing documents, duplicate payments, unusual transactions and bookkeeping discrepancies.
- Maintaining an organised digital filing system for invoices, receipts, bank statements and other financial records.
- Providing financial information requested by management, accountants, lenders, investors or authorised professional advisers.
- Maintaining strict confidentiality regarding the company’s financial and commercial information.
Requirement
- Previous experience working as a Bookkeeper, Accounts Assistant or Finance Administrator.
- Practical knowledge of bookkeeping principles and financial record management.
- Experience reconciling bank accounts and reviewing income and expenditure.
- Familiarity with United Kingdom business accounting and financial-record requirements.
- Experience using bookkeeping software such as Xero, QuickBooks, Sage or a similar platform.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets.
- Strong numerical, analytical and organisational skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- The ability to manage confidential information responsibly.
- The ability to work independently and meet agreed reporting deadlines.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
A recognised bookkeeping or accounting qualification, such as AAT, ICB or an equivalent qualification, would be an advantage. However, practical experience may be accepted in place of a formal qualification.
Pay: £13.00 per hour
