Following major investment in new large scale tube and plate laser cutting technology, we're looking for a talented CNC Laser Programmer / Technician to join our growing team.

Whether you're an experienced laser programmer looking for a serious challenge, or an engineering graduate with excellent CAD/CAM skills and a passion for technology, we'd love to hear from you.

Worsdale Fabrication Ltd is a family-run steel fabrication company based in Somerton, Somerset.

We work across a wide range of sectors, delivering high-quality steelwork for nuclear, commercial, agricultural, industrial and specialist projects. The Role

Working with our brand-new CNC tube and plate laser cutting machines, you'll be responsible for programming, setting and operating the equipment to produce high-quality components efficiently and accurately.

This is a varied role where you'll work closely with our drawing office, production team and workshop to ensure jobs run smoothly from CAD model through to finished part.

Responsibilities

Programming CNC laser cutting machines from SAT and CAD files
Creating and optimising nests for efficient material utilisation
Setting up and operating CNC laser equipment
Editing and optimising programmes where required
Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and communicating with the design team.
Carrying out quality checks to ensure components meet specification
Supporting continuous improvement within our laser capabilities
Maintaining a clean, organised and safe working environment

About You

We're looking for someone who enjoys problem-solving, takes pride in producing quality work and enjoys learning new technology.

Ideally you'll have:

Experience programming and operating CNC laser machinery or
An engineering qualification with strong CAD/CAM skills and a willingness to learn
Good computer skills and confidence using technical software
The ability to read engineering drawings
Excellent attention to detail
A positive, proactive attitude
The ability to work independently and as part of a team
