Role: Primary Teacher – Year 5/6

Location: Chesterfield

Salary: £130-£232.57 per day (Depending on experience and/or qualifications)

Contract: September 2026 – July 2027

About the role

We are looking to appoint a dedicated, enthusiastic and talented Year 5/6 ClassTeacher to join our friendly and supportive team at a welcoming primary school in Chesterfield.

As a small, inclusive school with a strong community ethos, the school pride themselves on creating a caring environment where every child is valued, encouraged and challenged to achieve their very best. They have high aspirations for all pupils and believe that positive relationships are at the heart of successful learning.

We are seeking a teacher who is committed to delivering engaging, creative and ambitious learning experiences that enable pupils to thrive both academically and personally. The successful candidate will teach a mixed Year 5/6 class, providing high-quality learning opportunities that prepare pupils for the next stage of their education while nurturing confidence, resilience and independence.

This post would suit an experienced teacher looking for a new challenge, as well as an Early Career Teacher eager to develop within a collaborative and supportive school. We are looking for someone who has high expectations, enjoys working as part of a team and is passionate about making a positive difference to children's lives.

If you are an inspirational practitioner who can motivate pupils, build strong relationships with families and colleagues, and contribute fully to the life of the school, we would be delighted to hear from you.

Requirements

Salary is dependent on experience, qualifications and training. All successful applicants will:

- Hold qualified teacher status (QTS).

- Have referenceable experience working in a school setting.

- Be passionate about education, with a desire to help young people thrive.

- Be comfortable delivering their own and pre-set lesson plans to range of children, dependant on the requirements of the school.

- Be an excellent communicator with a positive, can-do attitude.

- Ideally hold a full, clean driving licence and have access to vehicle.
