Pay: £13.53-£14.73 per hour
Shift Pattern: Monday – Friday 14:00 – 22:00

Job Description:
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Mechanical Technician to join AJ Scott Ltd, an industry-leading, family-owned sawmill. As a progressive and growing business, we are looking for a skilled and motivated individual to join our Engineering team.

Key duties include:

Carrying out planned maintenance checks on mill machinery.
Completing work in a timely manner to minimise downtime and support effective site operations.
Accurately completing all relevant paperwork, using the CMMS system where needed
Ensure high level of hygiene are maintained, good housekeeping and cleaning and clearing of debris/sawdust where required.
Carrying out machine inspections as required.
Identifying any deficiencies or defects that may affect the safe operation or use of machinery.
Notifying the Engineering Manager and H&S department of any defective or unsafe equipment.
Supporting and assisting the Engineering team and machine operators where required.

Relevant experience and qualifications:

City & Guilds, NVQ or SVQ Level 2 qualification in mechanical engineering or maintenance, or relevant experience within an industrial manufacturing environment.
A proactive approach, with the ability to use initiative to achieve effective outcomes.
The ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Good IT skills, including the ability to use CMMS systems.
A flexible, positive and practical outlook.
