Full job description

Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Bookkeeper / Accounts Clerk to join our finance team for a group of companies. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, supporting the organisation's accounting functions and working closely with the Director. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented professional with a strong background in bookkeeping and accounting software to contribute to our company's financial health and efficiency.

Responsibilities

Manage and maintain accurate financial records using recognised accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or Xero
Process accounts payable and receivable transactions efficiently and accurately
Reconcile bank statements and ensure all financial data is up-to-date
Assist with payroll processing and employee expense claims
Prepare financial reports and summaries for management review
Support month-end and year-end closing procedures
Ensure compliance with organisational policies and relevant financial regulations
Maintain organised filing systems for all financial documents and records

Experience

Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or Accounts Clerk, preferably within a similar industry or organisation
Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or Xero is essential
Strong understanding of accounts payable, receivable, and general ledger functions
Excellent organisational skills with a keen eye for detail
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
Prior experience with payroll processing is advantageous but not mandatory
