The Role
We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Headstone Fitter to join our growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing memorial headstones and carrying out related masonry work at cemeteries and churchyards throughout the region.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in memorial masonry or a skilled tradesperson looking to learn a specialist trade.
Responsibilities
- Install memorial headstones safely and to the highest standards.
- Prepare foundations and carry out memorial installations.
- Carry out repairs, refixing, renovations and maintenance work where required.
- Load, transport and unload memorials safely.
- Maintain a clean, safe and professional working environment.
- Represent Art of Stone NE professionally when working with clients, cemeteries and local authorities.
Essential Requirements
- Full UK driving licence.
- Good level of physical fitness and ability to carry out manual work.
- Reliable, punctual and able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent attention to detail and pride in producing high-quality work.
- Respectful and professional manner, recognising the sensitive nature of working in cemeteries and churchyards.
Experience
Previous experience fitting headstones or memorials is preferred but not essential.
We welcome applications from candidates with experience in:
- Construction
- Landscaping
- Groundworks
- Bricklaying
- Paving
- General building or other skilled trades.
Full training in memorial installation will be provided to the right candidate.
Salary & Benefits
- From £13.71 per hour, depending on experience.
- Full training provided – no previous headstone fitting experience required.
