Job Summary
We are seeking a talented and passionate Pastry Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food production, baking, and culinary arts, with a focus on creating exquisite pastries and desserts. This role offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your creativity and expertise in a professional kitchen environment, contributing to the delivery of exceptional dining experiences.

Responsibilities

Prepare, bake, and present a variety of pastries, desserts, and baked goods according to established recipes and standards
Assist in menu development by creating innovative pastry items that align with the restaurant’s concept
Ensure all food safety and hygiene standards are strictly adhered to during food preparation and handling
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the pastry section, including equipment and workstations
Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure timely delivery of high-quality products
Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, placing orders as necessary to prevent shortages
Support the training of junior staff members in baking techniques and food safety procedures

Skills

Proven experience in food production, food preparation, cooking, and baking within a professional kitchen environment
Strong culinary skills with expertise in pastry arts and dessert presentation
Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in hygiene management
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure
Experience working in a restaurant or hospitality setting is highly desirable
Creative flair for developing new pastry recipes and adapting existing ones
Ability to work as part of a team while maintaining attention to detail and consistency in quality
