YOU MUST BE WITHIN A MAXIMUM 1-HOUR COMMUTE OF SWINDON.
We are looking for a videographer / camera operator to work with us on automotive shoots around Swindon.
This is a chance to get paid to shoot some of the newest cars on the market, learn a proven filming system and see your work go from the streets of Swindon to millions around the world.
You don't need years of automotive experience. What matters is whether you have the eye, the attitude and the ability to learn quickly.
THE ROLE
We are looking for videographers, not DOPs.
We have a proven system and format that we know works. We aren't looking for someone to come in and reinvent it. You will learn how we shoot, why we shoot it that way and what works best for our audience.
We can teach you how we shoot and develop your skills. What we're looking for initially is the ability to see a good shot.
This is not an opportunity to simply play with your camera and get paid for it.
WHAT WE NEED
- Based within 1 hour of Swindon
- A good eye for cars, movement, composition and detail
- Gimbal skills and the ability to follow talent are essential
- G85 and G7 experience or willingness to work with them
- GoPro and smartphone filming skills
- You will use our kit. The equipment we use has been developed through 10 years of rigorous field testing and is used because we know it works for the way we shoot.
- If you believe your own camera or equipment can do the job better or faster, don't simply tell us. Show us. Explain why it is better suited to our work and demonstrate it with examples.
- A genuine interest in cars, filming or documentary-style content
- Most importantly, the attitude and speed of learning to develop with us
THE WORK
This is part-time work that sits around what you already do.
If you have the time to slot us into your schedule, great. If you don't, please don't apply.
We understand you want to keep your diary full but if you're simply looking for another gig to fill a date, this probably isn't for you.
We're looking for people who genuinely want to see their work publicly appreciated, improve their skills, earn additional part-time income, socialise and be part of something that can put their work in front of millions of people and become a legend of social media.
Filming days are normally 10am–3pm, with the quickest shoots taking around 3–4 hours. Speed comes down to the camera operator.
All projects are covered by an NDA.
RATES
Rates increase as your skills develop and your results prove themselves.
Views are the ultimate measure.
Sponsored content is paid at a higher rate bonuses are also paid.
HOW TO DEMONSTRATE YOUR SKILLS
We don't expect you to have a huge portfolio. We just need to see what you can do.
You have three options:
1. SHOW US YOUR EXISTING WORK
Send us examples of genuinely good work you've already shot. Links only.
We particularly want to see real-time gimbal work, not just 120fps, camera-following talent, handheld work and product or vehicle demonstrations.
We are looking for the creativity and cleanliness of the footage, not the number of credits on your CV.
2. DO A SHADOW DAY
If you don't have suitable examples, we can arrange a shadow day.
You will be expected to shoot test footage on the day. This isn't simply a day to watch us work.
If you cannot demonstrate that you can do the job during the shadow day, we won't be able to offer further work.
3. SHOOT A ONE-MINUTE DEMO WITH YOUR OWN CAR
Use your own car and recreate a selection of the main shots we regularly use.
This doesn't need to be a polished film. We want to see how you think, how you move the camera and whether you have the eye we're looking for.
You will follow our format. We are not asking you to create your own interpretation of what you think we should be doing.
The point of all three options is simple: show us what you can do.
If you want to learn, get better, make money alongside what you already do and genuinely care about seeing your work out there, we'd like to hear from you.
Sounds like a lot of work but when you know the system these are a very fun and easy way to be part of something you will be really proud of.
