SO Modular Limited, one of Wales’s leading and largest Timber Frame/Modular Manufacturers, has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Timber Frame Designer to join our busy design team. You will be working closely with the existing design and production team and reporting to our Design Manager.
Duties and responsibilities will include:
· Take ownership of designs.
· Gather information for pre-design all outstanding information to finish design
· Risk assess potential health and safety issues.
· Ability to check drawings completely for accuracy.
· Clarify any uncertainties with the Design Manager.
· Very confident in providing technical assistance to Contracts managers, Site installers, Production and transport staff.
· Accurately design and estimate timber frame, roof trusses, joists and cassettes. With potentially progressing to timber modular panels and homes.
· Product development and innovation .
· Ensure all designs are completed in time for agreed manufacture dates.
· Ensure all designs are completed to agreed prices.
· Adhere to Company Policies and Procedures at all times.
Essential skills:
· Minimum 5 years CAD designer experience (Preferably in timber frame).
· Fluent user of AutoCAD.
· Good working knowledge of current UK Building Regulations and governing bodies.
· Ability to produce technical drawing information to a high standard.
· Ability to successfully manage projects with minimum supervision.
· Manage workload efficiently and to continual tight deadlines.
· Effective communicator both verbal and written.
Desirable skills:
· Relevant architectural based qualification (Degree, HNC or HND).
· Experience with Consultec Framing, Pamir Panels, Pamir Roofs and Joists.
· Modular, offsite or MMC knowledge.
· Valid UK driving license.
