We are looking for an experienced and organised Accounts Payable Clerk to join our busy finance team on a part-time basis. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong background in purchase ledger/accounts payable who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in accuracy and attention to detail.
The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, be confident liaising with colleagues and suppliers, and be able to manage their workload independently while meeting deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
- Process supplier invoices accurately and efficiently.
- Scan and upload supplier invoices into our electronic payment system.
- Match purchase orders to supplier invoices, ensuring all job-related documentation from supplier and contractors is complete and accurate.
- Liaise with Account Managers and our Helpdesk team to obtain approval for supplier invoices prior to payment.
- Investigate and resolve invoice queries and creditor disputes in a timely and professional manner.
- Reconcile supplier statements and resolve any discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate supplier records and filing systems.
- Assist with payment runs and ensure invoices are processed within agreed payment terms.
- Support the wider finance team with general accounts administration as required.
About You
We're looking for someone who has:
- A minimum of 3–5 years' experience in an Accounts Payable or Purchase Ledger role.
- Strong knowledge of accounts payable processes and procedures.
- Excellent communication skills, with the confidence to liaise with suppliers and colleagues at all levels.
- A proactive approach to resolving issues.
- High levels of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Experience using accounting or invoice management software.
