Cookstown Textile Recyclers (CTR) is a leading textile recycling company committed to sustainability and the responsible global movement of recycled textiles and reusable clothing. We work with businesses and charities to give textiles a second life while reducing waste and environmental impact. Our export operations serve customers across West and East Africa, Pakistan, India, UAE, and Europe. As part of our continued growth, we are looking for an enthusiastic Shipping Clerk to join our team and develop a career

About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Shipping Clerk to join our growing team. This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for someone looking to build a career in international trade and logistics. You will learn the fundamentals of export operations, documentation, global shipping processes and international compliance, with clear progression opportunities as your knowledge and experience develop.

Key Responsibilities

Assist with preparation and maintenance of export documentation (commercial invoices, packing lists, shipping documents) and compliance paperwork accurately and efficiently.
Support coordination of container shipments and loading schedules
Liaise with internal departments including sales, warehouse, and finance
Create shipments and arrange courier bookings, ensuring all export documentation is completed correctly
Track shipments through to their end destination, working with freight providers to quickly resolve issues and queries
Ensure shipments meet international trade regulations and company procedures
Provide administrative support to the export team
Answer customer queries via telephone and email

What We’re Looking For

Minimum of 1 years experience of working within a shipping administrative environment and have a good understanding of export procedures, customs regulations and shipping documentation.
Strong attention to detail and good organisational skills
Confident communication skills (written and verbal)
Basic IT skills (Microsoft Office, email, data entry)
Strong multitasking skills with the ability to prioritise workload
Willingness to learn and develop within the role
Ability to work in a face paced environment
