JOB DESCRIPTION AND PERSON SPECIFICATION

Job Title: Logistics Operator

Responsible to: Logistics Manager

Responsible for: None

Location: Sleaford

Work Times: 8am to 4pm (Monday to Friday). A degree of flexibility will be needed at peak periods.

Summary and Purpose

SHD Composite Materials, a Cambium company,is a global advanced composite materials company headquartered in the UK with sites across Europe, the UK and the USA. Our proprietary materials platform combines Al-driven molecular design with state-of-the-art chemistry, materials science, biology, and manufacturing capabilities. We develop new advanced materials and provide ISO qualified prepregs, films, adhesives and bespoke solutions to the highest performing applications and teams across the world. Our 200+ team proudly serves hundreds of customers across the aerospace, defence, energy, motorsport, marine and other high-performance industries, providing unique materials development and manufacturing capability to accelerate their development cycles and achieve higher performance.

With a wealth of experience and leading AI led development in the composites industry, SHD is ideally placed to provide high quality products at short lead times together with excellent service and first class technical support.

The purpose of this role is to work alongside our existing team to assist with the efficient running of the Despatch and Goods In department.

Person Specification

In this role, you will be required to meet the delivery and transfer orders and be involved in the day to day running of the Despatch and Goods In department.

Key Responsibilities

Working in accordance with Company Quality and Health & Safety procedures at all times.
Understand the various hazards associated within the department
Ensure appropriate PPE is worn at all times
Inform the Warehouse Manager on any accidents/near misses
Assist with the loading and unloading of lorries
Ensuring the presentation standard of packed/picked goods meet both company and customer requirements
Report shipment quality issues as early as possible
Minimising wastage where possible
Maintaining a clean and hygienic workplace
Ensure that all procedures are adhered
Ensure all paperwork complies to AS9100 standards and specific Customer demands
Ensure all stock is held in the appropriate location
Assist with both Good In and Despatch requirements for the company
Assist with stock movement between sites.
To undertake any other duties from time to time as can be reasonably requested by the company.

Excellent organisation skills
Ability to complete documentation clearly and accurately
Forklift licence (Essential)
Full clean driving licence (Essential)
