Full job description

Trainee CNC Wood working Machinist

We are looking for an enthusiastic person with an interest in learning to operate timber production CNC machinery. The applicant will be trained in the use of the machinery and progress to independently operating.

To be trained in the running of the CNC machines.
To be trained in timber frame and hardwood product design.
Maintaining a clean, tidy and safe working environment.

The Candidate

You must be skilled and proficient in IT, including Microsoft Office, and an aptitude in learning fresh software is considered essential for the role.
A willingness to become hands-on which involves lifting and handling of timber and working in a production environment.
Possess a very basic understanding of building practices with an interest in learning more and expanding knowledge to further career.
A positive can-do attitude and a good team player are the most important attributes along with a willingness to learn.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for efficiency and high-quality production and production methods.
Be prepared for shift style work and flexible working hours.

Hardwoods Group Ltd is a wholesaler of Hardwood to the timber and building industry based in Little Stanney, Chester. We manufacture Oak framed buildings to exacting specifications.
Importing from various sources in Europe and supplying Oak throughout the UK, our mission is to enhance the natural beauty of sustainable hardwoods. We are a progressive and forward-thinking company, with plans to be the Supplier of choice to our Target Customer Profile

LOCATION: Applicant will be based in the Hardwoods Group unit in Little Stanney.

WORKING HOURS: This role requires the candidate to be flexible in their hours of work. Part time or Full time will be considered up to a normal working week total of 40 hours.

The candidate will be required to work at times up to 22:00 on some days. Initially this will be training with an experienced member of staff, but suitable candidates will be responsible and able to take ownership for the operation and progress to work alongside a small team of operatives.

The flexible time arrangement will be as required by the company. It will be agreed in advance and will be relatively consistent from week to consistent. However company requirements may change as workload changes over time.
