The role: Managing Director

Location: Knutsford, England (on site with international travel)

MANAGING DIRECTOR

We have an immediate career opening for a Managing Director with above average enthusiasm and common sense.

About Us

We are a family-owned global company that produces ultra critical valves for the world’s oil, gas and hydrogen industries, where exceptional quality and on time delivery is critical.

With operations spanning the UK, Dubai, Malaysia and India, and a world-class R&D centre in Knutsford, we have ambitious plans to grow beyond our £100m turnover.

Our business model is to sub-contract our components, then assemble at our facilities in Knutsford and Chennai. Our culture is agile, entrepreneurial and decisive. There are no layers of bureaucracy, endless committees or slow-moving approval processes. We value common sense, accountability and action.

The Role

We're looking for a Managing Director to work closely with our Chairman and lead the business forward. Think less "corporate administrator" and more "conductor of the orchestra" – aligning talented teams across engineering, operations, sales, and our business support functions to deliver profitable growth.

Who We Are Looking For

Our ideal candidate will likely have come through the finance route as an FD for a mechanical engineering company and then successfully transitioned into a Managing Director role. We need someone focused on growing pre-tax earnings through an integrated management structure whilst defending our “Gross Margin is King” philosophy.

The right person will also have a strong understanding of IT related strategy as we recognise automation and AI will play a key role in the future of work.

Most importantly, we’re looking for energy, enthusiasm, resilience, and ambition. Someone with plenty of runway ahead of them and a genuine desire to lead a growing international business into its next chapter.
