Full job description

About the Role

We are looking for a reliable and experienced Counterbalance Forklift Driver to join our busy galvanizing operation in Lurgan. The role involves loading customer vehicles and articulated trailers with steel products, supporting dispatch activities, and ensuring all work is completed safely and efficiently within a fast-paced industrial environment.

This is a hands on role that combines forklift driving, yard operations, customer collections, and dispatch duties. The successful candidate will play an important part in maintaining safe and efficient operations while delivering a high standard of service to our customers.

Working Hours

This position operates on a rotating 2-shift cycle:

Day Shift

Monday to Friday: 6:00am – 3:00pm
Saturday: 6:00am – 11:00am

Evening Shift

Monday to Friday: 3:00pm – Midnight

Pay & Benefits

Basic salary of £34,353.52 per annum
Regular overtime opportunities available each week
Sunday overtime paid at £19.80 per hour

Key Responsibilities

Loading and unloading customer vehicles and articulated trailers
Operating a counterbalance forklift truck safely and efficiently
Preparing and checking orders for dispatch
Ensuring loads are secure and accurately loaded before leaving site
Assisting customers collecting steel products from site
Carrying out daily forklift inspections and reporting defects
Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe working environment
Supporting general yard and dispatch operations as required

Essential Requirements

Valid Counterbalance Forklift Truck Licence
Previous forklift driving experience
Good understanding of health and safety requirements
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Good communication and customer service skills
Reliable, punctual, and safety focused

Desirable

Experience loading articulated trailers
Experience working in a manufacturing, steel, galvanizing, or industrial environment
Knowledge of load securing and dispatch procedures

Additional Information

This role involves working both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions and may include occasional manual handling. Safety is our highest priority, and all work must be carried out in accordance with company procedures and health and safety requirements.

Pay: £34,353.52 per year
